  • Couple of Surfy questions....

    Hi again,

    have done a couple of searches, but haven't found any conclusive answers....

    I know there was a "wide body" version of the Hilux Surf (2nd gen post 1992).......with wider arches and tyres/wheels?

    ....is there a great visual difference?...and how can I tell which is which (without going by the vin plate).


    and...Recaro seats.....do the rear recaro's split...and do they seat 3?

    Hi there,

    I have a '94 SSR-G with a Recaro interior and the rear seats definitely split. It's a 50/50 split and you can certainly fit three people in the back!

      Most 2nd gens are the wide body. They have small plastic flares on the wheel arches. If it looks strangely skinny and goes straight down above the wheel arches, it's narrow body.
