As usual it started off as a bit of a ribbing. I think the main point of it was that if someone new comes along and posts an Ebay linked thread for their Surf without paying for advertising on here they get a bollocking.

So why should the rules differ for long standing members?

A simple, 'Oops, sorry about that, it slipped my mind that it I should have paid for an ad on here', would have sufficed and cut the thread dead. Instead it grew into a long winded, boring, thread where the same points (and attempts at humour) were repeated ad infinitum!

Exactly. Plus the point of the blatant lying to try and justify posting the advert. After all, he ain't no intention of selling it, has he, so how could he be promoting an ad. Yeah, my arse.

Rules are rules. Whether one personally agrees with them or not, Koi and Lucky have an advertisement fee in place for anything advertised for sale on this forum. Providing an external link to a sale is still technically advertising on here, especially when one considers the adulation that 'Stein evokes with some members. Saying that it's not for sale was a w@nky, lying method to try and possibly flog it to someone on here in an indirect, and free, manner.

Btw Animal, you can put that little princess attitude on as much as you like. Unlike Bibs, I don't give a toss whether you take the hump or not.
