Head questions
Doesn`t it seem strange that low mileage surfs come into the uk running great, then within a year the heads crack? couldnt it be that a number of them have been clocked and have actually done high mileages, in which case any deisel can suffer from head problems.Also the recall for these ones was for replacement head gaskets, not heads, so has the head got a problem or not?The fact that they tend to crack in the same place doesnt necessarily mean a design fault, just that it gets suffers a hot spot there first when overheating. I`m not totally convinced that the real reason for head problems has been discovered yet, especially when toyota reliability has been so well proven.( now i`ve written this, my head will go next week!).
