Hello after a very long absence abroad

Anyone watching Survivors on BBC? 2nd gen Surf alert!

Good choice i reckon, if i could take any vehicle in that situation, i'd take a 2nd gen no question, solid yota quality, lovely to see

You can watch it here (from 51mins) but only a few shots so far, next week promises at least one action sequence, bit of ramming, surviving petrol bombs, usual days work

Worth starting on episode 1 if you missed it, looks like being a good show - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...ors_Episode_1/

Found myself browsing the surfs for sale section already The prices now

Yes, I did spot the Toyota and in fact I thought it was good to see a cross section of 4x4’s represented. Despite saying that I will never go back to a Land Rover, I did think the crew cab looked good... and I’ve always fancied a Jeep Wrangler.

Living in that sort of post global disaster might have some perks (road testing any number of nice cars and lots of boy’s toys) and you may find some good people survive, but it would be a very dangerous place as there are bound to be some evil people left as well.

i would want something totally impractical, e.g, Ferrari, Aston, Morris minor etc and i would totally wreck them, and do stupid things like driving from lands end to john-o'grotes as quick as i could, then set fire to it, get another car and do the same,

        god i'm sad

i have only watched the end of one program, but surely if there was nobody alive in the UK how would things like petrol pumps work with no power?

          How long would you live?

I would use a portable generator, cut the supply cable and splice in the temp supply, pump the fuel into a bowser and head for the hills (in Wales obviously)

Which is pretty much what one character was doing.... using a pump powered by car batteries, he stopped the pump by disconnecting the battery when another group of people turned up... after the nasty, selfish man sent them away he re-connected the battery, causing a spark that blew him and the whole petrol station up.

I noticed it said Turbo on the rear doors instead of Surf, is there any other difference?

The Netto they used was in Earlestown.

The BBC didn`t need to stop the traffic,it`s like that normally.

Dragging up an old post i know, but can anyone tell me the colour of the Surf in Survivors? Was it grayish-green?

I believe i now own it!

The previous owner bought it from a company that provide vehicles for films and TV, and said it was in survivors. Sadly its no longer on iPlayer.

She's a bit tatty, as some berk has pulled off all the arch extensions, and a couple of the doors had rusted through, but have already replaced these and a front wing thanks to Lord Lucan.
I'll be restoring her a bit further as and when funds allow, just hoping SWMBO doesn't notice when it grows 4"!!

Yeah i remember the first series. It had the guy from Blakes 7 in it, and they grazed there sheep at the oval cricket ground. Classic t.v.

I think the 4Runner/Surf used in Survivors was petrol-bombed by an angry farmer. The vehicle made an appearance so that one of the more expensive Land Rovers didn't need to get torched.
