Christmas came earlier this year - I've just taken delivery of a Session Pro DD506 drum kit - my xmas box from her indoors. I used to play years ago when younger - but then discovered beer and women - so drumming took a back seat. Now trying to get back into it.
What i need is some software that can slow down the tempo of a mp3 track so i can hear the drum line a lot slower - my play-by-ear skills are a bit rusty.
    Anbody know of such software??
    Everyone thinks I'm paranoid!!

there's an old (discontinued) mp3 player called sonique, which has pitch and tempo controls somewhere IIRC. By using the tempo control to slow down a track the pitch is distorted too, but by then increasing the pitch control you could get it back to somewhere near the right pitch but still slower. Haven't used it in years, but i'm sure it used to be able to do that if you can still find a copy, it was freeware so might still be able to find it somewhere.

Best thing on the market for that is made by Tascam.

The CD-VT2 is a stand alone piece of hardware that will take any cd and adjust the tempo without affecting the pitch.

Guitarists and bassists use them for transcribing songs, The vocals can be removed for singing over any song.

I dont see why you cant use it to get an idea for drum beats.

        Offical tascam site - http://www.tascam.com/products/cd-vt2;9,21,953,35.html

Cheap place to buy it - http://new-vista-sales.amazonwebstor...oogle-GB&id=uk

Try Audacity - its open source software if I remember correctly - change in tempo without changing the pitch, loads of other effects

Can import different tracks into the same window.

open aif, aup, wav, mp3, au, ogg filetypes
