  • Steering recall done

Got my steering recall done today at the local main dealer in Derby, they had one hell of a job trying to get the bits off to replace them, I got a lovely Yaris as a courtesy car, thanks, didn’t get anything free though, just a full valet inside and out, and also a polish, they did a safety check and came up with a few problems:-

Offside, side light insecure (new wing is out of shape) need a bash
No antifreeze in the coolant (filled up with water when I did the head)
Oil leak in engine bay, cant find where it is coming from though
Engine bottom cover missing (the one at the front, under the engine)
Exhaust pipe rubbing on the chassis
    Grease around the cv joints
Very slight play in NSF wheel bearing
OSF track rod end ball joint leaking grease ?? but not split £62.94 + vat
OSR seat belt twisted £62.94 + vat
Cut in OSF tyre (can feel cords)

    Not to bad

Just the oil leak that I would like to find, they couldn’t find it, apart from its at the back of the engine.

But the main thing is, she drives nice now the tracking has been done.

Nice one, I had mine done a few weeks ago. I didn't get the valet though. Although they did put diesel in the tank for my trouble which was nice. Got a courtesy car too. They did a saftey check although it sounds like yours was more thorough than mine.

Its only a small cut and the tyre only has 3mm left on it, it's an origanal Falken, so the sooner it goes the better, (i got 4 spares)

Did you notice the price to untwist the seatbelt ???

Yes, they have no choice, as they are desmanteling the steering.

Yes, i'm sure business aint good at the moment, but with prices like that, do they think a tight git like me would pay to have a seatbelt untwisted and grease rubbed off my balls.
