        Its um...

        Well its different.

Not sure why the guy didn't just do a V8 swap and bobtail.

Land rover axles aren't as strong as Toyota axles. Same with most of the components actually.

Most people who get extreme in the land rovers fit hilux axles!!

          yuck!

Its an abused hilux, and not in the good way.

          It made me sad ;-)

                Well, Id rather have a 3.9V8 then a standard 2.4 N/A

So i would've just done an engine swap ala stein.

Even a bobtail on a pickup isn't a big problem.

would've been a lot easier then a body swap.

probably just a case of a few blokes banging on about naff all in particular on an interest forum and one of em says, "hey, do you reckon this can be done..."

personally even if i could do this, i wouldn't bother. like said previously, just do the engine swap. but fair play to anyone with the know how and be-arsed-to-do-it'ness.

how much weaker is that chassis to the hilux's?

Dont know how much if it is at all weaker.

Its just everything else can't handle too much stick. An transmission brakes are sh!t. If he's kept it that is.

I'd want to see the body mounts an the welding on the chassis. If its sh!t then its worthless.

i'm always dubious of anyone advertising a motor with no mot and the info that "it will get through 1 with no problem". erm...in that case you'd put it through the mot and make it more saleable.

As long as the out riggers have been done properly you can mount what you like as a body.
"An transmission brakes are sh!t." Not if you swap from the landrover drum set up to a disk.
