  • Manaul versus Auto and Intercooler or not

Hi folks, looking to buy my first surf and have decided on a 3rd generation but would like to know peoples views on manual versus auto and intercooler or not ?

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Mornin Paul

If you get the chance, go for the intercooled one (bit more power) but don't pay any more - prices for all surfs are in the toilet at the moment.

Personally I would go for the auto, especially if you are planning on towing or going off road a lot but is really personla choice.

I drove a manual 2nd gen and much preferred my auto.

    hope this helps

Definitely AUTO and intercooled if possible, but I personally wouldnt get too hung up on the intercooler, its not that big a deal. I certainly wouldnt pass up on a non intercooled minter, to get a less mint intercooled one. You may get more power from it but not to the point where its really startling and noticeable

              AUTO

and if you want more power go for the petrol V6
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL

exactly right. you can easily add an intercooler anyway.

I was really in two minds weather or not to get a surf cos most of them are auto, never had one before & was'nt keen at all. Now ive got one i'll never go back to manual again, ya can drive with a cig in one hand & a coffee in the other, its fantastic.
If its not broke don't fix it.

                    I go with that comment...
AUTO and the rest can be modded on....

                        Intercooled

                        Auto

Avoid the common colours (Blue, buggerdy, black, grey, green)

I haven't seen any other colours than that on 94-96 surfs.

                          What other colours are there?

Well, apart from white - which is not common and rhymes with shoite (with good reason) modesty precludes me mentioning the finest colour (You can look to the left of this post for a clue though)

Cue ritual abuse and hair dresser comments ......

Well, I think the Champagne Silver suits you Bob, it really brings out the hazel in your eyes.

Ahem... ok (manly voice)... so these are the colour options I know about so far for 96 Surfs:

                              Black
                              Grey
                              White
                              Champagne Silver
                              Dark Metallic Blue
                              Powder Metallic Blue
                              Metallic Burgundy
                              Dark Metallic Green
