Played the hire car lottery and lost badly

Work allows either a Monda size basic manual or a small 1.4 Auto as a hire car.

If you go for the Auto, most of the time the hire company does not have a small auto available so you get a free upgrade to something interesting.

Last time a got a 20K Saab Turbo with full leather, this time I got...................... A Skoda Fabia

Nothing against Skodas, but the 2008 model Fabia is just horrid to look at, I have parked it up the road well away from the house

hehe, sounds like you have exactly the same hire car policy I used to have to follow.

If I was unlucky, I'd get a Mundano, a Laguna or some forgettable Peugeot. If I left the request til last minute (sometimes dodgy cos you wouln't get a car at all!) I could sometimes drop lucky. Memorable ones have been Volvo V70 with full leather, Merc C320 Kompressor, BMW 535...

I had a V70 for 3 weeks once while I was up and down to Pendine on trials. Was a bit of a wrench to go back to the 1 litre Pug 205 I was running around in at the time!

we used to play this at avis car hire
its a propper kick in the nuts when ya lose
but if you drop on its great they give us a 4ltr jeep thing
never did no work just played in that thing
or it was a 1.2 corsa for 4 blokes going for 4 weekswe never fitted in
