  • Ssr?

    Ok this may be a really stupid question but which vehicle do I have? SSRG or SSRX, when I was looking at the back the other day I could see where the badges once were, I know it 's SSR? & 3.0 but which one is it? how do you tell the difference?

    for the sake of the smart arses I know one has an X & the other has a G

    Please be gentle with me I am new to the hilux surf.

    Cheers
    Ian

      Some bad news Ian .....

      It could also be an SSRV or a plain SSR !

      The reality is that it doesn't really matter - mine's an SSR (The lowest of the low) but it's got an LSD, winter pack, fake wood dash and all of the other G spec goodies !

      PS

        there is a ssr ssrv ssrx ssrx limited and ssrg.
        the ssrg will have the recaro interior and that will basically be the only difference in all the specs.Some people do fit the recaro interior into other truck aswell mind

          Smart arse reporting for service.

          Have you considered the possibility that it's an SSR?

                ............possible sensible answer............

                Have a look at the frame number on the VIN plate.

                It should start with Y-KZN130, where Y means diesel (I think) and KZN130 is the model (a 3 litre TD).

                There will then be a G (standard body) or W (wide body).

                Then there will be GK (they all have this, can't work out what it means).

                Then an M for manual or a P (of course) for automatic.

                Then a G for standard body or Q for wide body (in case you missed it the first time around).

                Then a T for diesel (again)

                Then....

                Nothing = SSR
                V = SSR-V
                X = SSR-X
                G = SSR-G

                  I do know that it is an SSR? & not just an SSR because of the outline of where the badge was, it has 4 letters, it's just difficult to tell what the 4th letter might have been, if the outlines are different I may be able to determine which mine is.

                  I need to see the badges, is there anywhere on the net that sells the badges so I can compare the pictures online?

                  Cheers

                            Good stuff Sancho - but it doesn't quite tie in for my 3rd Gen !

                            I've just checked and the MODEL number is:

                            KD-KZN185W-GAPGH

                            Any info/suggestions for what I've got ?

                            (The Frame number is the Vin on mine)

                            Cheers

                              I thought this would be so easy, my vin plate number ends on the T = diesel then nothing but the outline of the badge has 4 letters, you can see the SSR but not quite what comes next although it is bigger than the SSR, any ideas? am I still welcome on the forum even if I have a lowly SSR or will I now be snubbed.
