So - have you decided yet?
Tony N is your man for OME or TJM shocks - Apache will probably recommend these over the ProComps as he's used both....
I've had ProComps on both my trucks, and for the money they are OK, but rot quickly....
I got Ranchos from Summit Racing in the US - for not too much more than the TJM ones would be - and they are GOOD!!! But if you buy them in the UK, it's Specialist Leisure and they are about £100+ each....
But - horses for courses - ProComps are good shocks, but cheap and their customer service sucks like an Electrolux, but if you don't drive too much offroad or too hard offroad, then they'll be fine....Too old to care, young enough to remember

Well i just need something to go with the LC Springs. I was told +4's. I only really use the truck off road and only 4 or 5 times a month anyway. TJM, Scorpion Racing and OME's don't seem to be available in that length, so it looks like i'll wait (even longer) for LA Supertrux to sort it out. They had some ES3000's in +4, but if i'm taking off rear ARB's then i imagine i want the shocks as firm as possible? I take it i do need to take off the ARBs for LC Springs?
I don't think i can get anything else in +4 or even +3? If i could then i wouldn't mind spending a bit more on quality shocks. It just sounded like LC Springs and Procomp shocks were a good cheap lift.

I have the same springs and ES3000s on the back. I didn't notice any difference when I removed the rear ARB. The front is the one that makes the big difference to the feel.
The only criticism I have of the procomp shocks is the build quality. The bodys of the ones I've seen lose their paint quickly, but its not really an issue if you give them another coat of paint. On mine, the rod has rusted on the portion that is rarely swept, but they work and they're cheap.
The TJMs on the front look as good as new and feel very plush offroad. A classic case of getting what you pay for.
Strictly speaking, you dont need to remove the ARB to use the LC springs, but you will need to raise the droplink mounting points.Last edited by Apache; 11 October 2008, 20:54.Cutting steps in the roof of the world
