  • lift kit ?????????????????????????????? ????

please can someone tell me .if all you need to do is fit 2 ins spacers and wined up the torsion bars to lift a surf then spending £350.00 for the lift kit from roughtrax is a little daft is it necessary .

The tosrion bars ideally would be better wound up 1.5 inch unless your going to fit free wheeling hubs aswell as you'll get to much wear on the cv's

spacers are ok for the rear but if you wind the t/bars up to 2" you will cause more wear on the cv's thats how alot of peeps on here say about 1.5" is enough. You can wind them up 2" i'm not saying you shouldn't but if it was me then i would do it 1.5" unless fitting fw hubs

That will still wear the boots out quicktime if you don't have manual hubs..

you can get away with the standard shocks on road but off road they may bottom out

They'll top out Rich not bottom out. What you need to do Steve is fit 1 1/2" ball joint spacers to the front and then wind your torsion bars 1/2" this will keep the drive shafts at a respectable angle. Then fit your spacers on the rear Hey presto cheap 2" lift.
                Steve.

eh? that will still have the same driveshaft angle, it just won't have such wound up bouncy torsion bars.

i put ball joint spacers on and never adjusted the torsion bars, would have been way to bouncy.and im sure that torsion bar adjustment will give you an extreme cv angle anyway, the only way to really save them are fw hubs.
