lol my dad had a MK2 cavalier when I was younger. It died after we were in a traffic jam and the oil just fell out the engine and was trickling down the road
im with andy on this. i have been in a lexus gs430 with 3 other (asleep ) people driving down the road to innsbruck.i was doing an indicated 155mph and the limiter (very easy to bypass) was off.i bottled it at about 160 ...ish.the car aint a skyline but similair and would have reached a good few more mph.

In a Skyline, 197mph is 8000rpm in top gear. You'd need at least 650bhp to achieve that or a very very long clear stretch of flat motorway.

my old v6 mondeo did just about 155..down the hill from fareham to pompey.
it had a really big ford v8 throttle body, and green injectors swapped out for the grey's, these used to deliver about 3 1/2 litres of fuel a minute, and boy did it get hot when you wellied it !!
its not hard to reach 150 or so...but every 10 mph increment needs massive injections of power.......but skylines are ready willing and able to accept this mod.
everyone was impressed when the veyron became the first 1000bhp car........but the tuners have been getting those figures out of skylines and supras for some considerable time.
