Why not just put a bonnet vent where you've made that hole when you remove it? Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. I'd fab a snorkel yourself to fit that mushroom top too. I like those mushroom tops.

I wanted a vent in the middle over the intercooler I am going to fit...
(currently sitting next to my desk... )
and smaller vents on the side for letting hot air out....

Yeah think I might keep the top but on a decent bit of stainless pipe going up proper and coming out of the wing oh yeah and with white dots....
