The bog and the tractor

Right! Got to get a winch and land anchor (not much in the way of trees on Skye)

I got stuck today in bog off side of the surf sunk so low that I could not open the door! I climbed up and out the passenger’s door to find the nearside wheels two feet off the ground. Luckily while walking home I bumped into a friend with a tractor!

Lockers might have helped – it really is a shame that me old surf don’t have them.

Ok, anyone got any advice on what is the best low cost winch buy and the cheapest solution to fit one? I guess it is a winch bumper  They are so dam expensive!!!

Has anyone had any experience using Manuel winches such as the Black Rat Recovery Winch?

i had a maual winch (dont know the make) and it worked but it was painfully slow.about an hour to move 50 feet.

and really knackering

have you considered a winch mount ??

An hour to move 50ft! I think I'll look into the winch mount for sure :-)
