L4?

i know this is a silly question
i have had my surf 5 years neary 6 now
and i dont know most things about it
what is that L4 gear is it 4wd? low 4? whats the 4 stand for?
i have used it before but i was in 4wd anyway at the time
just needed abit more power to shove something
but only just seen it has a 4 not just a L
iam too used to driving plant macheanery
i have never realy looked at it till now

L4 is low 4wd on the lever and thats with the lever pushed forward towards the dash and pulled right back is h2 High 2wd and to get high 4wd just press the button on the lever with the lever in the normal position pulled back

mine dont work the button that is atm

it should do unless the bulb on the dash has gone that is.
If the button is knackered and you want another 4wd lever with the button then let me know as long as you cover the p&p then you can have it

well i get no light on the dash?
so thats strange

and yes this time i will take up your offer on any parts i need
how do i test this 4wd button?

go off road and press the 4wd button and it should go into 4wd if not then it could be crap around the switch itself or the dash bulb gone but if you can borrow another switch/lever to use and see if the dash light comes on or not.It will cost about £4 to send so if you let me know if you want it then give me a few days to get the feeling back in my leg so i can move about better

it stems back 3 years ago from a accident i had in work and it looks like i got permenant sciatic nerve damage but i have got a mri scan on the 29th of october so that should show whats causing the problem now

thanks george 3 years since it happened and 2 hip operations and i thought everything was ok till i was told to lay off of the painkillers and then all this trouble showed up.I know my probs ain't as bad as yours tho and its bad enough as mine are with my leg so i can well understand how much worse it is for you but we got to get on as best as we can ain't we

any problem like this is has bad has each other
but yes mate its about qualety of life
we may not be has fit has we once were but so what we still think the same
nothing can change that mate its who we are

its just a case of getting on and taking it day by day.i am looking at the worse case scenario at the moment and if the test come back better than expected than i'll be happy.i know people say look positive but i look at what the worst thing can be so i won't be dissapointed.

we all have ower own way of doing it mate and its what works for you
my way is a little strange but still it works for me

i've had too many let downs by looking at the positive side so thats why i look at the worst case and then i know things won't be any worse and can only be better
