Firstly dont worry about your spelling George, oxford dictionary english aint required on "ere" many a time the simplist word spelling leaves my brain,
after the event mate i know but just dumped an air con idler pully and bracket, did ask on here several times tho, as rod said stormy or other breakers is ya best bet, just replace the whole bracket, two bolts if i remember right, not sure how the pully fixes to the bracket, failing that and if you dont use your air-con , rip the whole sodding waste of space off, more room, less drag on the motor, lets face it this country aint tropicle is it
I think your talking about the idler. The small black pulley that has the screw attached to tension it?
From memory I think there is just 1 bolt to take off and the pulley should come off. Normally you can knock out the bearings and replace them but I haven't done the toyota one.
Should be easy but you might have difficulty if you have the aircon rad still on
The Air Con pump doesn't turn unles the Air Con is engaged, there's a clutch to stop it. The pulley spins, the pump doesn't. If the belt is correctly fitted around all the pulleys, it can't not turn.
its not the aire con pully its the smaller one thats right at the bottom
just under the air con tho
