The Air Con pump doesn't turn unles the Air Con is engaged, there's a clutch to stop it. The pulley spins, the pump doesn't. If the belt is correctly fitted around all the pulleys, it can't not turn.

I can't help with pics mate, I need to change my aircon belt. After the lift its a total sh!t to get into the bottom of the engine bay!

ok every post i do is mainly about mi surf being broken again
well this post is no differant

well has some of you know i sent my truck in to be fixed well most of that happened
and iam now discovering that i still have no 4wd and no news from the guy who (fixed it) in the first place

now this is my new problem
i noticed a few mounths ago that one of the belts were lose
i gave it no thought
i then heard a noise come from the front end that sounded like a squealing
i poped the hud
and the bottom pully was making a noise so i sprayed it with some lube
i gave it the guy who i all ways gave it to

now today i throught it was time that belt was tightend up a bit
so i got a mate to help and it was fine took 5 mins

i fired her up to go to a very ugent apointmet that my wife had
i ony got to the end of the street and that squealing came back i have not heared for ages
so i turned around a ued the wifes car

by now iam not a happy bunny
i got home 5 hours later to look at mi truck
and the belt in question is the one that gose round the air con
the bottom pully (the one with the tenshioner) it pulls the belt tight anyhow
its no moveing at all
that should have been fixed?
it was not too tight i made sure by giving it the belt twist test
were ya should be able to twist it but not all the way round

i orded one of them pullys 61 quid from toyota

i realy need to know how hard of a job is it?
dont forget iam not in good health
i have been under my car every day since sunday i got it back saturday
i have pain everywere
and my pocket is getting lower
thses things should have been done
i know i hammer mi surf but parts should last longer that 3 mounths on a toyota pully

i could do with some how 2 pics if poss
coz iam not taking mi surf to anyone again!
mi new rads blowing through thats under warranty still
so if that has to come out its going back

iam just ranting on i have had a very bad day
i have kept my temper tho for now well i have not hit no one
only good thing that happend to me today is i have about 1 hour to spare
