Q2 _Strange "cracking" sound

OK, not on my car but on Pete's... (we're having a VERY bad month)

When you break hard or turn suddenly there is a really horrible cracking/snapping sound coming from the back BUT you can feel a sort of a "kick' in the steering wheel... What on earth could that be??

If it happens when braking or cornering, then I would suspect suspension components, possibly a broken spring?

sounds like a spring has gone, not sure about the kick, get under and shake everything u can grab

had a similar thing a few weeks ago turned out to be a broken arb bracket bush went bye bye - cheap fix thank god took ages to get the bolt off the bracket though.
