  • Goddamn it!

Really starting to dislike my truck...

Not only is an engine mount fubarred, but the rear UJ on the prop is sha99ed too. Just rocked the truck back and forth in park and there's a horrible grindy metal on metal crunching coming from it. Holding the prop at the UJ, you can feel it, and one of the bearings is red hot on it.

Can the joint be changed or is it a case of changing the entire prop??

the uj's are about a hour each there are 'c' clips holding the caps on and you will need good vice to push it all back togetherwith a couple of sockets. You may have to grind the old one out if it's 'welded' its self in there

I do both of my rear prop one yearly as they dont last long of roaded even if regually greased

I was doing mine every time I used the truck properly offroad (probably quarterly) so its not through lack of maintenance.

All this a week and a half before Wales...

I take it this should cure my woes?

For a tenner each that makes lots of sense.

That would be an EXCELLENT fall-back if its not a problem. Would give me some breathing space for the Wales trip if changing the UJs doesn't go to plan - or if a yoke on the prop is shot.

Better ask the epc people or tony if they are interchangeable between 2.4's and 3ltrs

                        Is it a 2.4 shaft he's got? I have a feeling they're not interchangeable...

                        Anyone confirm?

OK, so they is swappabubble then.

Yes Charles, I'd love to take up your kind offer then! Let me know arrangements.

Just ordered two UJs plus bolts (just incase!) from Milner for the princely sum of less than £40 delivered.
