  • man i need help

and not just in the head

i have been everywere today trying to find out whats wrong with mi truck and still no 4WD
i could do with looking at another truck to compare it with mine
so i can trace these hose to were they should be

haynes manual's for a 4 runner of surf are just like rocking horse teeth
no one had them or could get them
toyota said they can get a manual but it would be all in jap

i found a hose connected to a ovel like thing at the very end of the gearbox
this hose gose on a pipe sitting on top of the gearbox to the ovel thing
that hose was spilt at both ends
you can see were i replaced it till the morning with clear air line

these tow pipes things that stick out of the gearbox the ones iam baffled about in this thead http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...t=49349&page=2

well the ones iam baffled about are sat 4'' away from the split hose i found on the gearbos its self
    they look like this

they are quite hard to find
if you follow this hose yours will be black

were that hose above sits them other tow are just to the right hand side

can anyone please tell me what should be on those ends please
and were the hose that should go on them were do they lead to

its taken me about 1 hour to post
    thanks in advance

Can you get 4WD by shifting the short transfer lever forwards into 4L ?

Transmission needs to be in 'P' or 'N' to do this.

Between the front seats there are two levers, the long one for the transmission and a short one for 4WD.

When driving on the road the short lever should be in the H2 position, (pulled back towards the drivers seat)

With the engine running and the long transmission lever in 'P' or 'N', push the short transfer lever all the way forwards into L4. the green light should come on too, you should now be in low range 4WD.
