got around to finishing the sliders today , 2 coats of undercoat 1 coat of hammerite & anti slip tape .

You don't need under coat for Hammerite.

speaking to a metal fabricator he reckoned it was best to undercoat before hammerite ,wipe metal with white spirit or equivalent to remove grease ,oil from metal undercoat then topcoat ,
reckoned he used to expect a call 6 months after fixing if he didn't undercoat ,
who knows anyway done now
