  • Surrey 4x4 help needed 11-12th October for a Charity 10K run

have had a request from Cancer Reasearch for 4x4 support of their Loseley Park 10K Charity Run on the week-end of the 11th-12th October
Losely is basicly on the south side of the north downs ridge and to set out the route on foot would take them about 2 days but with the help of us it takes about 3 hours! Therefore they would love our help both to set it out on the Saturday and to help ferry first-aiders and marshalls on the Sunday and then to help break down the course after the race.

I know a few of us helped the last race in 2006 so if anyone can help then please register (for your free lunch and for H&S reasons) and let me know vehicle numbers on here please

Recieved from the Event Manager >
"I hope that you are well. I have been forwarded your email about Loseley Park and YES please I would love your support on the day. The course as you know I am sure is tough - not only to set up and take down but to make sure that we have it well covered incase of any incident on the course and getting the marshals out to the positions that they require on the day

Please could you confirm who may be able to help support the event and also how many vehicles. I will make sure that all volunteers have snacks for the day!

The course is looking a little fragile at the moment with the weather the way it is but I am heading up to Loseley park to check it out first with the groundmen

Losely Park Run10k does need volunteers and if you are still interested, please do let me know and I can send you more information on how to register your members online. The reason we ask volunteers to register online is to cut down our costs as we then do not have to enter any data by hand. There is lots of information on the website, if you have not already seen this then please do have a look at www.run10k.org and specifically the volunteer section http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/10k/.../volunteering/.

Many thanks Gary and I look forward to talking to you soon,

    Emma"
