  • Whine in the cab.

Had a whine inside the truck for some considerable time now. Thought it may have been the 'better half' stuck behind the passenger seat but alas no, it's been diagnosed by a mate as a noisy pump in the auto box.
    Question?
Do I wedge the wife in the back to mask the noise, change the auto box oil, fill the box with sawdust or cut my wrists?
I love me Surf and am not prepared to be divorced. (from the truck, at least)
    Any advice or thoughts folks?

    All the best

    Ed

Wonder how many peoples first thought was to make the wife walk when they saw the title?

I'd agree with BDT and go for changing the fluid first. There's also the possibility that it could be a U.J.

not much point asking for anything over that as people don't tend to want gearboxes that often so if i can get that price for it then i'm more than happy
