Good morning guys, Newbe here thinking of buying a Surf. A friend has a 2.4 and seems to be having loads of problems with the cooling system on it so although it's a nice motor I think I'll look out for a 3.0 motor for myself. They don't have thesame problems as the 2.4, is that right?
Driving a 2.2td Estima 8 seater at the moment but really fancy a Surf. What sort of things should I look out for and I have heard that you can get up to 30mpg? Surely not?

Yes with a 3.0L it's possible on Motorway's n careful driving .....

Mind you, manual lockup probably gets me closer than ever!

Even with sticking to 55mph on M-Ways the most I've ever seen on my 3.0L is 26 mpg average. The later 3rd Gens may be a bit better but any Surf is never going to be anything other than a friend of the oil companies, unless you go Veggie, in which case you are going to be friendly with a different sort of oil company.
