      Criminal

Heck - it should be criminal to drive on a beach.

Sand in your bearings and salt water spray in your nooks and crannies!! It's like vandalising a piece of art - the Surf, I mean.................

Pilling Sands about 10 miles from the Golden Mile Nr Blackpool..................... but the local residents who live nearby (no-one within 1/2 mile of the sands) have been complaining about the noise (poor things in there £1/2+ million home steads) and the local council are looking into banning or prepairing a code of conduct for user of the beach.

Very often there is a police 4x4 sat waiting for users then crawling all over there vehicles looking to book them for something.

I was under the impression that only the non tidal part of a beach was owned by anyone. So when the tide is out, go for it!

                    hey john, guys.........
any beach not marked 'private' is national trust land, that applies from the sea defence wall / boundery right down to the low-water line (which as we all know can vary according the moon phase....... spring or neap tides). sometime vehicular access to beach is the problem, not that you can't get there but to do so you have commit an offence.....ie crossing a public footpath or a bridal way or even private land etc. so be careful.

                    see ya'll

The police started clamping down on users of the beach some 15 to 20 years ago. Used to go on there with a 50cc motorbike from the age of about 9 or 10 when staying up at a static caravan we used to have. The usual idiots scxreaming up and down the sea wall etc..so the police started to go

4x4 magazine published a list of legal to drive on beaches in last Julys edition. The Mrs threw it out when the coffee table was wobbling on my stack of mags!
                        It's only a hobby!
