  • Buying advice

    Hello all.

I'm looking at a 4x4 as a second car to my company car.
I'm looking at a price under £2k and I have notices a number of Hilux's with 12month MOT, 12 months tax and a FSH. (around a 1992 year with 100k on the clock)

All seems impressive and I'm aware the Hilux is robust, to say the least but I still want as much information on them so I can make an informed decision.

So what should I look out for, in regards to a sellers hiding problems?
What a normal fault and what's the kind of price to fix it?
Any advice really would be greatly appreciated!

    Many Thanks

Get a 3.0. grey is the best colour, make sure all electrics work as they should and the 4WD system all works.

          Looking good!

Well between yourselves and advice from others this is looking quite promising.

It's sounding like there aren't really outstanding issues with the Surf?

It's pretty much just down to the normal buying checks and a desired colour LOL. Nice list BioHazard! This'll get used

Any one else having good successes?

          Cheers
          Allan

Other than heads, which both 2.4's and 3.0's can suffer from, there are no outstanding faults, so to speak. Normal rules for checking any vehicle over apply. Keeping them well maintained and serviced is the key.
