Just off to wake 'Spanners' up.

Big day today. Changing all the belts inc cambelt, drivers side wheel bearings and inner CV boot, and changing brake fluid.

Keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds as we'll be outside!

Well we ran out of time cos Dave is off out for anniversary meal tonight.

We got front wheel bearings done - I forgot to order the rear seal but we got it out and reused it without a hitch. Drifting the rear bearing out carefully brought out the seal nicely

Replaced the top balljoint on the drivers side (thanks Rich!) as it was knackered - loads of play.

Replaced inner and outer CV boots on drivers side too. Not too bad a job as we'd taken the hub off.

Replaced brake fluid with Superduper DOT5.1 - cos she's worth it.

Incidentally, cos I was being too tight, I'd only bought the inner CV as that was the only one that was damaged. However, getting the shaft out tore the (pretty perished) outer one. Happily, I managed to get a universal one from Halfrauds which is a perfect fit, almost exactly the same dimensions as the original! Its FAI part number BK5000, Halfrauds part number 375410 - and might get you out of a hole sometime!

Didn't do the belts, but that should only take an hour or two some of ther weekend soon.
