Gas Or Oil ?

Hi, i am going change the front and rear shocks on my 1996 3rd gen (intercooled) and was wondering what would be best, gas or oil ?.
The truck is only used on road, but does have to cope with all 5 of us in it...

gas every time, procomp9000 is a start point
