Bull bar swap (2nd/3rd gen)

Been looking for the answer to this using search but can't seem to find anything. Will a 2nd gen chrome standard bull bar fit a 3rd gen? I prefer the chrome look than the 3rd gen crappy plastic look that I've got now. If they do fit, how does the bash plate mount or does it have to be removed?

No it wont go straight on, there different fixeings, but anything will fit if your prepaired to make up strong bracketry to convert it, i even thought of adapting a paj jaos when i was looking, but a surf one come along
