  • UPS Postal Dispute

Who is the onus on, the buyer or the seller?

I bought a set of component speakers off a guy on another forum. He sent them out via UPS. He's adamant they were all in the box when he sent it, but only the tweeters arrived. The mids and crossovers were not in the box. The box was sealed with one layer of tape and does not seem to have been tampered with.

    What should I do?

Thought about that, but I can't. Paid with PayPal using Switch.

Raise a dispute with Paypal and reclaim your payment as goods are not as described.

If its the same as Royal Mail, the onus is on the seller.

Got an update on this. I've noticed the box has been opened from the bottom and taped back up with clear tape. The tape covers the main address label and the UPS label, so must have been applied after it was with UPS. Looks like they have a thief somewhere?

you've signed for the parcel "recieved in good condition"... don't think UPS would be interested.

I didn't sign for it, it was left with a neighbour.

they probably signed for it.... UPS will have a signature that it's recieved in good condition...

really, they shouldn't leave it with a neighbour if it's addressed to you.. but it happens...

i'd suspect the neighbour... that happens a lot!

UPS 'lost' a rear spoiler for our Corolla I bought from Ebay and paid for via paypal, the seller had to send out another and claim his loss off UPS.

Seller isn't interested. As far as he's concerned, he sent the speakers out. It's my problem that an empty box arrived. Truth be told, I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm trying to pull a fast one on him.

Thing is, it wasn't lost, it was the contents that were stolen. The package was delivered.
