  • Manufacturers PLates

I have a KZN chassis 3.0TD Auto Hilux Surf.
I was towing a trailer (empty) for my work and was pulled in because no tacho and potential over 3.5tonnes. However they (VOSA) could not see a manufacturers plate with axle and towing limits and I had 21 days to get one fitted. Any ideas how to? Help?

    I know nothing ......

but what's the significance of the 3.5 tonnes and tacho ?

Are VOSA treating the Surf as a commercial vehicle ?

Mine will go over 3.5 tonnes when we're towing the BWSOW ...........

Life is too important to take seriously !

only need a tacho if the prime mover exceeds 3.5t... and then only if it's being used commercially...

you'd also need an operators license.

you'd need a payload of 1700kg to exceed 3.5t... i reckon you'd have your ass on the floor with much over 500kg!
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!
