Dorset is far
Northern Ireland is a bit awkward to get to
Leeds isnt far
If I went to either of the first two and found a reason to walk Id be sad, If I went to LEEDS and found a reason to walk, no big deal, a few minutes in a train and Im back in Prestwick
I went from Edinburgh to Stroud for mine and glad I did
Can you see where Im going here ??
Bogus
ireland is a £31 flight from prestwick, then £139 for the ferry home = £170
dorset, i can get a flight for £35 to bournemouth and drive home with an estimated cost of £75 on fuel = £110
i have not priced leeds, i know what your saying but its cheap enough to get there, i just have to hope the car is a good un and i can drive it home.
sure leeds is the nearest but thats not a reason to go for that particular one, i know i9ll need to travel far to get a surf and there is always costs involved when trying to find a private car to buy, its a necessary evil.
i bought my audi tt in bolton but i was as far away derby looking for one
Sorry mate am not keen on it, summit about it looks funny, see what you mean about rear paint job, its not as if its gradually changing colour its the whole boot even on the side were you can clearly see the other paint is different, hope its a good one if you buy it.
i have enlarged it on my pc and it just looks like the different angle of the panel having a different shade due to the way its reflecting the light, it does not look like a paint job to me. I should be getting more pics sent to me so ill scrutinise them.
I dont believe its had any paint job other than the original one. There is no doubt that its far and away the superior colour. The wheels ( Chromed steel?) also look way better than the standard Surf alloys. Its got no spoiler which is a negative. Youll definitely find that rear wiper needed in the rain.
The Leeds one could use a radio and the window deflectors look like a bit after markety
The Irish one looks nice apart from the giant sticker
The Dorset one looks Ok
Theres also a black/silver one on egay in Yarmouth might be worth a look

after looking at a few pics they all have that effect at the back door, just the different reflection
i bid on the one in dorset but i got outbid and it sold for 3400.
the irish one is nice but i think the 114000 miles is putting me off, but it has been serviced every year and he has invoices to prove. i agree the surf sticker is not a good feature but he says it comes off.
the one in leeds looks really nice too and is low miles but the owner has no history to prove anything, it was apparently serviced a year ago, has no tax, had cambelt changed but no proof other than mileage it was changed written on cambelt cover, it would need a service and road tax it has a good mot.
still waiting to hear back from the people with the silver spec edition one they dont seem very enthusiastic when they have a genuine interested party.
im not sure if i would like it in the flesh but i thought it was too expensive for a surf with a big dent in its roof and if you dont like yellow the cost of respraying all the parts back to original colour, it should be going a lot cheaper with that dent, just my opinion of course.

If you got this one I am sure Tobyjug has some nice red seats for it
what i find weird is nobody on here can tell me anything about this 'special edition' does this mean the grill and front bumper could be cheap non-oem parts as nobody seems to have seen the grill and bumper before.
after looking at the front the gaps round the bumper and lights are uneven and the grill doe snot look as well fitted either.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the 'special edition' thing. Someone's probably just feeding you a line. There are plenty of surfs with slightly different grilles and I seem to recall there was a very mild facelift of 3rd gens at some point.
Having said that, maybe there was a special edition - they get up to some weird stuff in Japan.
Either way, I can't see it being a great concern. Like I said, if you like it and it's straight, just buy it.
if you want something "special" this could be for you.
either way with any model just make sure it is straight and you are happy with the options fitted.
I have found that surfs are a bit like swiss army knifes with lots of different options and gadgets added just get one that you will use the gadgets. and like the look of.
I have the 3ltr 3gen limited edition in black which has just about every option that i would want except cruse control which i did not realize came on surfs when i got mine. thats the only thing that i would want.
the model gives an idea of the gadgets fitted but some lower models have had them fitted as extras so can be the same
