  • rear reg plate

Where can I find one of the small rear reg plates that a lot of imports have? It's gonna have to fit below the bumper on my Surf due to the slightly different tailgate it has but I don't want it hanging too low to the ground.

    Cheers, Damian.

Not sure what you mean by the small plate, but most shows will have that stall that can print 'off-road' only plates at whichever size and font you want. You don't even need documents for them as they are not exactly legal for road use. A lot of those garages that do hot-hatch parts will also print these. I also own several motorbikes as well as the Surf, and none of the bikes have a number plate bigger than 6x4.
Everything's easy, when you know how!

        have a look here... "http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/regmarks/reg_marks_current_requirements .htm#import"

should be ok with a bike size rear plate... smaller numbers/letters dues to restricted mounting area

I believe that shops now doing Number Plates have to be licensed (look on the DVLA website...www.dvla.co.uk). This will mean that you need to take in your documents to prove that the vehicle is yours etc...

I don't know if Carlines (blackburn Road I believe) does them..I don't know if there is still a shop on Manchester Road..near the Fish and Chip Shop, across from Leena Tandoori. It used to do things like cutting keys, carplates etc..

Thanks everyone, 'imported vehicles' have the type I mean, but I'll try the one opposite the 'Leema', cheers Gaz.

Gaz, went down the 'bunk' on Sunday to watch the horses, couldn't see a Surf though, did you go?

              Cheers, Damian.

I found that motorcycle shops have the best range of odd size plates m8, my local shop/ bike repairers supplied the rear plate for mine. Proper inport size too and only a 10er made up.
