  • speedo recalibration.

Right, My speedo is fecking miles out!!!!

I know because the tyres are bigger for the same rotation im covering more ground so its obvious the speedo would be wrong.

How hard is it to correct?!

    It is shocking far out!

      mine are 35's

So i guess, the hike from stock to 33 gets the speedo closer an then going to 35 gives a similar % increase from stock to 33?!

      Sound about right?

You do seem to have somewhat of a growing obsession with speed related subjects of late Wod. Anything you're not mentioning?

going from 33s to 35s would throw your speedo out to read low by 5.7%, or 3.5 mph at 60.

from 31s to 35s gives an error of 11.6% low, equates to 6.9 mph at 60.

Should have said more, mine is more accurate with 33s but still reads faster than I'm going . . . safer for my licence so not going to try and remedy it. If I went to 35s it would probably be even closer.

I'd suggest a rolling road. My local lucas centre has one.

what side is the speedo out?

Mine reads 60 but I am actually 69 lol
              20 is nearly 30 etc

I was on the expressway when I just got the truck and thought...:

"mmm bit high in the rev's for 60.... d@mn everyone is driving so slow 2day.... "

              Hehe
              I have cured it tho....

Just leave the satnav in more....

              anyway good luck with that.....

I'm guessing that yours is a mechanical one Rod, due to age of the truck. In which case, its a new face for the speedo, which you'll have to make yourself.

                Electronic speedos can be recalibrated.

J reg, (late 1991) was the changeover year from cable drive to speed sensor.

If the needle rests on a pin at zero, then it's electronic.

Have a look at the tag on the driver's seatbelt, the manufacture date will be on there.
