Done a deal back end of last week for a 1992 2.4td surf €750 or about £600,which I don't think is to bad,is it?
Shes out of T&T but I live in France and will be putting it on french plates hopefully.
The problem I may have is its a grey import,But as long as the same model was sold in France I should be OK. I think this was sold as the 4 Runner in France?,Any one know different?
This is to replace my citroen relay van as my work motor! What a work motor!
Am I right in thinking that this engine is broadly the same as fitted to the1990 Hi ace I owned a few years ago?

Great forum, looking forward to ,contributing to it
Sorry guys,my other cars a Range Rover.

    Regards

    Mark

Ps Picking her up on friday so could be alot of questions over next weekend, cause I can't stand things not working!!!

well done for getting rid of the citroen. but you will be living in france, and its all renault or citroen over there :S

nice to meet you! not sure about france, but i have been told the surf is basically a four runner.
do you need to know this info for registration purposes or insurance, or both?
      Oh Nana, what's my name?

            Thanks guys
Yeh from the link above I kind of concluded that the uk spec(and europe, I think) is badged 4 Runner.

The insurance company do not give a monkeys what they insure,as long as you have a licence for it!!!

I re- registered the mondeo last month, wot a paper chase!!!(still never need to buy road tax again!!
But you have to apply for a certicate of conformity, which is issued by the manufacture(for a fee of course),which gives all the details for the frogs to register the car.
The problem with the "grey" imports is sometimes you get a partial certificate and the car needs to be inspected like the UK Single vehicle approval .
If a similar vehicle was sold in france(I e the 4 runner) then happy days,if not bad news!!

By the way car insurance is about half the cost in France, and I keep my keys in the ignition so I don't lose them!!

Dieselboy you are so right about the sh*trëon it is a pile of c¤¤p
