Finally got one - 4.5 litre petrol, VX Amazon, triple factory fitted locking diffs, full main dealer service history, 1997, 101,000 miles, never been off road.

I will be fitting a suspension lift in a couple of weeks and 33'' tyres, and an LPG conversion. And other stuff............

both my uncles, my cousin, my grandad, and like 5 of their mates all have this 4.2 diesel landcruiser.

the thing i love about them, is when you turn the ignition, it doesnt even turn over to start. it just goes 'click vroooom' even when its in the minus figures in the morning (apparently)

and when you put your hand up to the exhaust when its running it feels like someone blowing on your hand - constant airflow.

I'm torn between fitting A/T's or M/T's - either way they will be BFGoodrich - awesome milage.

It is a nice truck - the power is amazing - I drove the Surf earlier and all I could do was laugh at its wheeziness.

I'll spend the next few months prepping it for overland fun and games - next summers Pyrenees trip can't come quick enough.

what are MTs? multi terrains?

i have some bf goodrich A/Ts and i think theyre great. ive smoked my rears a few times messing around and they arnt noticeable worn compared to the fronts!
road tyres are pants, every car should have bf-goodrich! lol

Unfortunally guys i am probably going to be joining the lovely boyo in buying a cruiser as i only use my lux to tow with and my 2.4td just aint cutting it so instead of going for a 3ltrtd im thinking of just uping to the landcruiser.
