C'mon don't knock it, at least they still Amateurs [spirit of the games], and not like half the Tennis or Athletics stars these days that think they can earn an olympic medal whilst still receiving vast sums of money [ie becoming professional]

You missed out our Judo 'stars' who all bit the dust in round one

I would mention the swimming (women's 4*200 relay) but one cannot with Rebecca Adlington doing so well

must admit quite unusual, although the Judo is not as well recognised these days as it used to be when I did it. Remember Brian Jacks [one of the origianl Superstars fame also].

Back in Los Angeles Olympics, we had one of our club members come away with the Bronze Medal [Neil Eckersley]...
