  • IT Exams Pending!

Well, I have taken the plunge and will be heading over to Oxford to do my IT Certs.

14 days of gruelling "hard" study and "hopefully" some qualifications at the end!

"If" I pass the exams I will get:-

    M.C.S.E. (Vista)
    M.C.S.A.
    M.C.S.A. Security +
    M.C.S.E. (Vista) Security +
    M.C.T.S.
    M.C.P.
    CompTIA Security +

I'm fed up competing againt spotty faced graduates with all the letters and no idea!

    Wish me luck!

    Gary

    BTW

I am driving from my house to Dublin, across to Holyhead and down to Oxford on Sunday 17th between 11.30 and 16.30!

If you see me flash the lights!

Will be in a "shiny" blue 2nd Gen!

I will keep the CB turned on in case!

Gees, you rin for a beating aren't you.

I always thought you had to do the normal exams plus elective (ie 7 exams in total) to be MCSE.

MCP is normally one exam passed

Good luck and I hope you pass....but you need to think about MS Server 2008 and Exchange 2007 which are the new OS and Mail Server software being pushed by Microsoft to replace Exchange 2003 and Server 2003.

They have redesigned the interface (Vista style) somewhat and made changes to how exchange operates and interfaces into Active Directory/Forests and so on.

                      i second that.
a colleague takes one or 2 weeks off every now and again to do these courses.
he is now got some exchange 2007 and server 2008 qualifications and is looking for jobs on £600+ a day contracting.
                      Oh Nana, what's my name?

Along with Server 2008 (exams released now) and Exchange 2008

You'll be needing this... this is Exchange in a nutshell

                        http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

you may need to print it out on multiple pages... and this is before the last service pack for exchange... which changes quite a few things...

oh, and once you've done your exams... get your head into Powershell...
this is why most of the management consoles have been dumbed down... 'cos they want us to relearn scripting...
