My mate's early RA ovalised its bores.

His lates one (an RB320) look pretty much the same, has so much electronic trickery you can let go of the steering wheel when you're cornering at 650mph and have a nap while it gets you to your destination in a superfast cocoon of cheap plastic.

Nah, not my cuppa. It and its contemporary imported jap supercomputercars are the motoring equivalent of a PS2. Dull, safe and everyone has one.

Nice - do prefer that shape. Don't much care for the next version onwards.

Oh, but they are. ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.. ....

You youngsters never watched the GpBs at close quarters. WRC is dull in comparison.

Only 650mph......I aint talking about the new ones that drive themselves, I am talking about the ones you need to drive and be agressive or be spat off the road.

I liked it when they first came out, but these days, it's one of the most annoying sounds around due to there being so many of them and mostly driven by knobheads.

Sorry, but Subarus just dont do it for me.

Its not all about 1 million horse power computers with wheels.

The best car I've ever driven was a Mk1 MR2. No kidding! About 130BHP, no power steering, or ABS, or any of that.

Some highlights of what Ive driven...

The exotics - Porsche 911 (both non-turbo and turbo), Porsche 968 club sport (thing with the roll cage in), Porsche 928, Ferrari 328GTs

Rally prepared cars - Subaru Impreza, Lancer Evo VI, 2 litre Vauxhall powered Mk2 escort, various other Mk2's, Cossie Sierra

Road cars - some Impreza or other, Mk2 turbo MR2 with getting on for 350BHP, Audi Ur Quattro, some nice Alfas, ohhh... etc etc etc

If I wanted something fast these days, I want something that gives ME something to do, some feedback, and a reason to turn round and look at what I've just parked when I get out of it.

Around here, they probably pay for a 30 day cover note to get tax then don't bother with insurance.

Its cos they're so cheap and common, the insurance is the most expensive bit!

Vince, I too hate the stupid sound of the flat 4 with unbalanced exhausts. The proper ones dont make that stupid noise cos they have equal length exhausts. They just come from the factory with the cheap option.
