After this film Paul Anderson should have been either a)killed or b)banned from making any films.
It seems he got lucky with this one and it turned out OK, then he went on and ruined everything else he touched. See M. Night Shyamalan for more details.
        Sorry, personal rant there!

Got to agree on the M Shight Shyamalan thing....

Event Horizon is good when you're a student and you're stoned (apparently ) but it's all just a bit silly as a grown up. Is it just me or does everyone else want to see hell?

It might be silly to pensioners.

You are a pensioner aren't you?

Isn't that a Rover in your avatar?

                    You're nearly 40 - you'll stop liking it then.

                    Oh... hang on... I'm 42

No, it's an MG and it's totally different. The badge is a different shape for starters.....

I don't mean silly as in the concept, but it's not exactly scary is it? Just a bit stupid. And it's really hammy acting.

If you like it, though, watch Sunshine. Pretty much the same film but with the bullshit turned up even higher.

Could that be a version of 'Solaris' for xenophobes?

I enjoyed Solaris, but not as much as the book.

It's kind of Event Horizon + Solaris + 2001 all put together with a plot that self-destructs in the last half hour so that you have no idea what's going on, who anyone is or what happened. You don't get to see hell in that either, but you do get to see the sun really big.

2001 - one of the best films ever.
Solaris - Good - though maybe Mr Clooney not the best actor for the role.

So, Sunshine is just typical Hollywood shoite then? The sun, but really big? Do they take Bruce Willis along to try to blow it up? Or divert it?
