Solid Pipes

Hi everyone,went to the garage last night,filled her up,got back only 5mins up the road,Anyway got out of the truck and there was a little smoke,just see it with window light shinning on bonnet.So i opened it up engine heat and the smell of what i can only descibe as burnt water.The thermostat hose to the top radiator was like a brick,and so was the heater hoses.But the over flow tank was still on full,and the heater needle did`nt go above half way,just rising very slow(as normal)Ive burbed the system ect and pipes still getting like a brick.Ive recently had new stat and cap,any idears please.
