        so i`m looking at the streetmap.co.uk what are the rights of way? red dotted lines with dimonds in them? what are just red dotted lines no dimonds private lanes??

            byways are red dotted lines, with crosses in, the red diamonds indicate a 'national route', basically a recognised long distance walking route, kinda like the south downs way, or pilgrims way or something like that i guess.
