well since i sold the surf been doing a camper up so in the mean time bought a fourtrak as a run about very impressed (its the older one leaf springs ect)
did a bit of research on them and aparently that engine is the one to have
as it has chains instead of belts and as for power it leaves the surf for dead
(sorry but true) now the problem is it seems narrow (when measured its the same as a vitara if not narrower) so its got one hell of an engine 100" wheelbase a really heavy solid chassis so thinking of changing the axles
to landcruiser? but have been told disco go on really well plus could get an adaptor plate and fit landrover gearbox and transfer box which would then give me diff lock?

Spoof the landy axle internals are made of toffee pudding mate.
I would fit the crusier running gear every time

100 wheel base? A range rover chassis and running gear should be the right size. I had a series 2 on a rangy chassis so I am sure it was 100 inch. Would probably be better to stick to jap parts tho.

Easy to find LC axles with electic lockers both ends, even some UK LC's have them.
