  • Ftp versus torrent

Firstly, cheers for all the help testing the torrent setup. Greatly appreciated.

Just wanting to get an idea of how many prefer torrent download over ftp and vice versa now. I'm gonna have to do some balancing between the two when I get the system in place, so just need to try and get a reasonable idea of what type of ratio to aim for.

    Cheers all.

Ftp will always be limited to the amount put aside at the server.

Torrent will be limited to the amount put aside at the server if only the server itself is seeding. If anyone else is seeding, the speed obviously improves.

Torrent does seem to be winning hands down at the moment.

Torrent will only be better if the is always a good number of seeders and these days many isp's throttle torrent trafic at peak times 4pm till mindnight..etc etc
