I was then thinking aboutgoing onto the dreaded m25 that way round unless you know of a better route but i need to go somewhere near to sussex aswell to meet up with NEZ

if you do go m3/m25 rich,going around and down the a21 aint a great big diversion,in fact from neils house its probably quicker than doing the a27 then the roads through east sussex

depends what time of day you're travelling, if it's peak times i'd avoid the M25, and either use the A27, or i think it's the A272 that goes from winchester to east grinstead. With no holdups the M25 is by far the quicker route, but i've spent too many hours sitting on that south west corner of it. I guess it also depends where in sussex you gotta go to too.
