So how much did you pay for the bike if you dont mind me asking! and do you have any pics? i`m after a decent bike but have no idea of what is good and a decent ammount to pay!! some go for thousands!!

Hi, I read up loads before finally buying and it was a toss up between a Kona Blast or the GT Avalanche 1.0. Both were in the top 3 of mountain bikes under £500 review by MBR magazine. I tried both out and opted for the Avalanche which seemed to suit me best.

when you look past the urine extraction on the Panda remember I pay about £35 for 350-400 miles of motoring, it's giving over 50 to the gallon

Using your numbers, it works OK. I'm a lowish mileage guy these days (work is 5 mile round trip) so a second cheap to run car wouldn't be economically viable.

The more miles you do, the more sense it makes though - obviously.

(We also have Vicki's Polo for long runs)
