Aye, I think it's the genuine innocence they have when they come out with some stuff. Funniest thing I remember was when I took my two nephews to the swimming baths when they were young and afterwards in the changing rooms one of them took a look at my belly and asked 'Uncle David are you the fattest man in the world?" The absurdity was brilliant (at least I think it was absurd).
