Life still sucks! The job still sucks They are putting me through my
IOSH Cert though as i will be there Safety Rep and no i wont get a salary increase

Sorry to hear that Mark , thought that your situation may have
improved by now ?

There don't seem to be a lot of good job's about this end of the
world , the one that are offer silly money , have to join Vince
and do an extra line on the lotto ha ha

Good jobs down this way aren't much better. Ok if you want to wipe old peoples bums for £6-£7 per hour, then theres loads of jobs.

Safety is an attitude; it's about getting everyone in your workplace home at night in the same condition they came in in the morning. Being a Safety Rep is key in making the above happen; it's not about money.

Try to get an IOSH Diploma, it'll give you more avenues in your search for a better job.

It's true what Andy has said, the diploma will open plenty of doors for you and a decent salary. good luck mate.

Yep, that's the route. I thout Mark had got a bit mixed up with IOSH and NEBOSH, when he said certificate I thought he was refering to NEBOSH. Didn't want to confuse the issue!

Safety in the workplace is huge business right now, my suggestion still stands, get a Diploma...

Talk to Mad Mac (Jim) his own company is doing brilliant, there is lots of money in Health and Safety consultation and training. He is busy all the time.

He got qualified after leaving the army, got a job with a training provider and then left to start his own company and has never looked back.

My job title at the moment is industrial safety adviser, but I'm embedded into the property management department so do so many other things as well

I'm about to do my NEBOSH Certificate 10 days + 1 exam day, really looking forward to it...Not.

A loung guy at work who has a environmental degree is struggling doing the Diploma at the moment, its not an easy thing to get for sure.
