Third Gen Lift, - Extra Body Mounts?

I was reading the very infromative 4crawler webside about hints and tips on lifting my third Gen.

They mentioned that some trucks don't have the extra two body supports, under the B pillar, I looked and my truck falls under this category, Are the extra once needed for a lift or is it ok with out? Is there any real gain from having the extra two mounts?

I've never seen a Surf with these mounts fitted. Plus I've never fitted extra ones when doing a body lift.

mine was ok without... i can see the point as the body has no support in the middle, but i guess it's not gonna snap in half very quick.
